Adelio Orlando Del Prete was born in Campi Salentina (1962), in the heart of South Italy, in the heart of the Mediteranean: Salento, a central place for blending of cultures (Greek, Messapi, Roman, Normands and Svevi). During adolescence Adelio recognized, like a part of his genetics, a passion for art and decided to explore the world through painting, and attended the State Institute of Art in Lecce.
While in the flowery Barocco style Salentina capital, the point of arrival of all of artistic cultures in his heart, Adelio completed his studies. The artist then moved to Florence in search of the beautiful, and through an open door, works in the world of fashion. It is the 80's and Italian style dictates fashion in the world. Later, Adelio moves to Milan and works for Versace: his life is phrenetic, the years pass the passion for painting is always alive but not possibile due to the lack of time.
In 2004, with his passion burning, culture rebelled. He closed the door on the world of fashion and luxury - a painful choice, loaded with the unknown, but liberating and lively: Paris, New York, Philadelphia.
Adelio currently lives in Paris, with new stimuli, new territory for aesthetic and conceptual search, ancient feelings to document with a new language. Painting has returned as the protagonist of his life.
